An unexploded ordanace, belive to be a World War II mine, has been found floating in the sea near the Gode Wind 2 offshore wind farm in the North Sea off Germany.
Germany’s Central Command for Maritime Emergencies said the mine was found Tuesday morning by a security vessel and it has since been taken under tow by the multi-purpose ship Mellum. It will be towed to shore and then detonated safely on a sandbank - due to inclemetn weather conditions it was not possible to detonate the UXO at sea.

The Gode Wind 2 offshore wind farm consists of 42 wind turbines which generate 252MW.
